Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Support Assistant

Grade: B3

Length: April-December 2026

Salary: from €3600 (net/month)

Place of work: Strasbourg. However, trips will be planned to Metz on a regular basis

We are looking for a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment Support Assistant to help us maintain a safe, well‑organised and compliant workplace while supporting our teams in their daily HSE activities.

Your role

Your role will focus on:

  • ensuring routine HSE tasks are performed (waste collection, making work clothing and personal protective equipment available, cleaning and disinfection, monitoring the qualification of clean rooms, periodical regulatory checks, etc.); requesting tenders, placing orders, checking services are carried out correctly, receiving orders;
  • helping to write and update quality documents relating to the EDQM’s scientific and technical activities, prevention plans and various regulatory documents (e.g. the “document Unique d’évaluation des risques professionnels” [single occupational risk assessment document]);
  • providing your expertise for risk analysis activities (chemical, biological, etc.) and following up on audit actions;
  • ensuring that EDQM staff follow HSE training courses and facilitating internal HSE training sessions in collaboration with the EDQM entities concerned; organising external regulatory training sessions with service providers and relevant EDQM entities;
  • helping to set up new badge-access systems for the Strasbourg site.

What we are looking for

  • As a minimum, you must:
  • hold a higher education degree or qualification (equivalent to the 1st cycle of the Bologna process framework of qualifications for the European Higher Education Area) in a subject related to the activities of the position (chemistry, biology, health, safety and environment, quality);
  • have relevant professional experience in the area of health, safety and environment;
  • have a very good knowledge of French and good knowledge of English;
  • be a citizen of one of the 46 member States of the Council of Europe;
  • be under 65 years of age.
