At every moment, someone, somewhere, needs blood.

Blood components – plasma, red cells and platelets – are routinely used to save patients’ lives during surgery, after an accident or during acute illnesses, such as cancer or haemophilia. Regular blood donations are needed to give patients access to safe and quality-assured blood and blood components.

Donors have continued to give generously this year, as support for blood donation continues across Europe, despite the difficult circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic.

So on June 14, World Blood Donor Day 2021, say a big thank you to all blood donors and make an appointment to give blood soon.

You can save lives, too!
