 Project Officer – B4 – Buildings and Technical Installations - e36/2019

Salary: 3 920 € per month (Gross, as of 1 January 2019)

The Council of Europe and its European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) are looking for Project Managers in the field of Buildings & Technical Installations to lead projects concerning the existing EDQM buildings or technical installations either in Strasbourg or on our new site in Metz (due to open in 2020).

 

The main responsibilities of the job:

Profile A – Project Manager Buildings: co-ordinate all buildings related activity related to the EDQM’s new Metz site, undertake Building Information Modelling (BIM) on both EDQM sites.  The successful candidate will also carry out studies, implement projects, related to the infrastructure of the EDQM’s buildings. Note: this profile will involve frequent trips to the Metz site.

Profile B – Project Manager Technical Installations: co-ordinate day-to-day maintenance as well as the Plan Général de Rénovation du Bâtiment de Strasbourg [Strasbourg general building renovation plan].  The successful candidate will also carry out technical studies and projects, using BIM, related to the technical installations, infrastructure and environments of EDQM scientific equipment, while at the same time ensuring operational continuity on the Strasbourg site.

 

What we look for in someone to undertake this role effectively:

  • professional qualifications in building construction/public works engineering, architecture or related subjects;
  • at least three years’ relevant professional experience of managing building/installation projects in warehouse logistics and/or in pharmaceutical and/or analytical laboratory environments; knowledge of BIM and sound knowledge and experience of specific computer-aided design (CAD) software such as REVIT, AutoCAD;
  • very good knowledge of one of the two official languages of the Council of Europe (French) and basic knowledge of the other official language (English).

The Council of Europe and its European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) are looking for a motivated Scientific Programme Manager in the fields of substances for pharmaceutical use, pharmaceutical packaging materials and/or medicinal products.

The main responsibilities of the job:

Within the European Pharmacopoeia Department, the successful applicant will develop and maintain monographs and other texts of the European Pharmacopoeia, by coordinating the work of experts coming from all over the world and providing scientific advice, guidance and support in the fields of substances for pharmaceutical use, pharmaceutical packaging materials and/or medicinal products. What we look for in someone to undertake this role effectively:

  • hold a higher education degree or qualification in pharmacy, chemistry or a similar life science domain;
  • have at least 4 years’ experience in quality control and/or developing methods of analysis of substances for pharmaceutical use (excipients or active substances), pharmaceutical packaging materials, and/or of medicinal products;
  • have a very good knowledge of one of the Council of Europe’s official languages (English) and basic knowledge of the other (French) or capacity to acquire the knowledge whilst in post.

  Temporary recruitment

Short-term employment opportunities (up to 9 months in a calendar year) might become available to cover staff absences, periods of increased workload or to support specific projects. The contracts can be monthly or daily temporary contracts and can be an excellent way to gain experience or new skills. Traineeships

To qualify for a traineeship, you should normally be in your final year of study in pharmacy, chemistry, biology or in a similar domain. Traineeships last for up to six months.
