Head of Communications Section

Grade: A1/A2

Do you have professional media or communications experience, including drafting press releases, social media news and responding to journalist requests, gained in a medical/scientific setting? Alternatively, do you have a scientific background with professional media or communications experience?  Would you be able to lead a team in implementing the EDQM’s communications strategy promoting the EDQM’s activities to stakeholders?  If so, this vacancy may be the right opportunity for you.

Main responsibilities of the job: As the Head of EDQM’s Communications Section, you will plan, implement and evaluate various communication and promotion programmes, projects, events and initiatives with the overall objective to raise the visibility of the EDQM and its activities, in accordance with the Organisation’s communication strategy.

Principal Scientific Assistant – Hazard classification

Grade: B5                                                                                             

Salary: from €4 850

Contract Type: Renewable fixed term contract

Do you have experience in chemical hazard classification and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements? Are you detail-oriented and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines? Do you have the excellent written and oral communication skills required to gather and provide technical information to users? Main responsibilities of the job: As Principal Scientific Assistant – Hazard Classification you will be undertaking hazard classifications for chemical raw materials, samples and reference standards and be the contact point for the users as well as performing regulatory surveillance for REACH (Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and CLP (Regulation on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures), and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) while managing the related IT software updates.

Scientific Assistant – Quality Management 

Grade: B4                                                        

Salary: €4 176 per month (gross)

Do you have a diploma in pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry, biology or Quality Management Systems (QMS) with professional experience in QMS? Do you have the capacity to use your quality skills in the EDQM’s scientific-focused entities? Are teamwork, client orientation and analytical thinking part of your key skill set? Are you ready to play a critical role in maintaining a “Quality Culture” across the EDQM? If so, our job offer may be the right opportunity for you.

Main responsibilities of the job: As a member of our network of Quality Assurance specialists at the EDQM you will play a key role in maintaining an in-house Quality Culture by assisting the organisation, co-ordinating, implementing and improving the EDQM’s Quality Management System. You will participate in internal quality audits, assist in external ones and contribute to the management of deviations/complaints and the resulting corrective actions. You will also take part in EDQM projects related to IT developments or in improvements in working methods.

   Temporary recruitment

Short-term employment opportunities (up to 9 months in a calendar year) might become available to cover staff absences, periods of increased workload or to support specific projects. The contracts can be monthly or daily temporary contracts and can be an excellent way to gain experience or new skills. This type of contract cannot, however, lead to longer term employment - this is accessed through separate recruitment processes.

    Traineeships

    We are happy to welcome trainees to the EDQM. For you it is a chance to gain valuable experience in a complex multi-cultural and stimulating work environment. For us, we benefit from the enthusiasm, motivation and skills that new graduates bring. To qualify for a traineeship, you should normally be in your final year of study in pharmacy, chemistry, biology or in a similar domain. Traineeships last for up to six months.
