Who we are:
At the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare (EDQM), more than 400 staff members, representing over 30 different nationalities and dozens of different professions, work together for better health, for all. Our wide-ranging activities – all supporting public health – are made possible by close collaboration with a global network of stakeholders and around 2 000 experts from a wide variety of scientific disciplines. The EDQM’s work focuses on four major areas: medicinal products, substances of human origin, pharmaceutical care and consumer health.
Your team:
The purpose of the Quality, Assurance and Risk Management Section (QARS), within the MSD, is to provide assurance, advice and insight aimed at improving EDQM’s operations and supporting the achievement of its objectives. The Section contributes to evidence-based decision making and strengthens EDQM’s integrity, transparency and accountability framework.
Within the team, you will be involved in equipment qualification activities and monitoring of environmental conditions.
Your tasks:
As a Quality Operational Assistant, your role will focus on:
- Performing initial qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) or modifications for temperature-controlled equipment (temperature mapping). Performing mapping in ovens, refrigerators, freezers (down to -80°C), and cold rooms (down to -20°C).
- Drafting qualification protocols and test sheets.
- Contributing to requalification activities by supervising external service providers (e.g., temperature-controlled equipment, climate chambers) and ensuring schedule tracking.
- Preparing comprehensive qualification reports.
- Proposing ideas for Continuous Improvement: initiate and implement preventive or corrective quality actions.
- Initiating and monitoring deviations in case of non-conformities or discrepancies observed during testing.
- Participating in the periodic review of monitoring data.
Based in Strasbourg, occasional business travel to Metz.
Who are we looking for
- You are organised, quality-oriented, able to plan and structure your work, service-minded, and a true team player.
- You have strong IT skills enabling you to use common office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, databases, electronic document management systems, email clients, web browsers).
- You have an excellent command of one of the Council of Europe’s official languages (French/English) and a basic knowledge of the other.
- Field experience in performing equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) in a regulated environment would be an asset.
- To be eligible, you must be a national of one of the 46 member States of the Council of Europe.
