Each year, the EDQM (Council of Europe) celebrates the European Day for Organ Donation and Transplantation (EODD) with the aim of drawing public attention to organ donation and transplantation. In 2019 the hosting country was the United Kingdom and the NHS Blood and Transplant organised an event centred on donation after circulatory death (DCD) and increasing donation from under-represented donors, with an emphasis specifically on Black and Asian donors in London.

The objective of this event was to share best practices and experience among organ donation organisations and transplantation professionals across Europe.

Target audience

These webinars are of interest to healthcare professionals involved in identifying potential organ donors, co-ordinators managing the process of donation after death, those responsible for the allocation and clinical use of human organs, quality managers within the process, and those working in health authorities responsible for donation and transplantation programmes.

Webinar 1: Donation after circulatory death

The presentations cover:

  • Transplant registry and potential donor audit: how it changes practice.
