On the occasion of World Haemophilia Day, the EDQM will provide a space for an event organised by the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) to address current challenges in the treatment of haemophilia. Representatives of patients’ associations, healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical industry will gather in Strasbourg to discuss the state of haemophilia care in Europe with the objective of bridging the gap between policies and latest scientific research.
Among other topics, discussions will focus on the consensus recommendations for optimal treatment of haemophilia reached during the symposium on the Wildbad Kreuth Initiative in May 2016. This symposium, which was co-organised by the EDQM, the University of Munich and the Paul-Ehrlich Institute, covered the optimal use of clotting factors and platelets.
