Background

In 2007, the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers agreed to transfer the activities related to pharmaceutical issues from the Partial Agreement in the Social and Public Health field to the EDQM as of 1 January 2008.

The steering body, the European Committee on Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Care (CD-P-PH), oversees the work programmes carried out by the relevant Committee of Experts. For more information about this steering body, click HERE.

EDQM Pharmaceutical Care programme "stimulating thinking and policy actions"...

(20/12/12) The Report of the Dutch Ministers Summit (Amsterdam, 3 October 2012) refers to the EDQM report on “Pharmaceutical Care: Policies and Practices for a Safer, More Responsible and Cost-effective Health System"(2012). In the same vein as the summit conclusions, the EDQM report recommends to governments  to promote and implement pharmaceutical care quality concepts in their healthcare systems, proposes suitable indicators and stresses the need for patient participation and cooperation between all healthcare professionals.
