The EDQM organises conferences and trainings related to the quality control of medicines. EDQM scientific staff play a key role in establishing the programmes and in meeting event participants. These events give participants an opportunity to learn together, share experiences, and engage in purposeful dialogue.
The EDQM regularly participates in pharmaceutical fairs and exhibitions.

International Workshop: In search of acceptable alternatives to the murine HIST: What is possible and practical?
Scientists from around the world from both the public and private sectors will come together to discuss possible alternatives to the murine histamine sensitization test (HIST) for the testing of pertussis containing vaccines. The aim is to find a suitable replacement for the in vivo test in accordance with the 3Rs principles – replacement, refinement and reduction of animals in research. The EDQM has organised an international collaborative study to investigate whether a cell-based assay could be a suitable alternative. The results from this study as well as criteria for method validation, regulatory acceptance and progress and achievements in other animal-free analytical methods will be discussed during the workshop.

World Hemophilia Day 2015
Join the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) on April 17 to raise awareness about bleeding disorders and the need to build a family of support for those living with them.
Families come in many forms but they all share the ability to support and advocate. World Hemophilia Day provides an opportunity to talk to your extended family and friends, colleagues, and caregivers to raise awareness and increase support for those living with an inherited bleeding disorder.
