Background
In 2007, the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers agreed to transfer the activities related to pharmaceutical issues from the Partial Agreement in the Social and Public Health field to the EDQM as of 1 January 2008.
The steering body, the European Committee on Pharmaceuticals and Pharmaceutical Care (CD-P-PH), oversees the work programmes carried out by the relevant Committee of Experts. For more information about this steering body, click HERE.
Work Programme
The following Committees of Experts are involved in carrying out the activities:
- the Committee of Experts on the classification of medicines as regards their supply (CD-P-PH/PHO);
- the Committee of Experts on quality and safety standards in pharmaceutical practices and pharmaceutical care (CD-P-PH/PC);
- the Committee of Experts on minimising the public health risks posed by counterfeiting of medical products and related crimes (CD-P-PH/CMED).
